GIS stands for Geographic Information System. It is generally approached with a set of tools and products to collect, store, and analyze data with a spatial component. GIS products have evolved over time to incorporate big data and complex machine learning algorithms. Think: Google Maps, but specialized for your particular business needs. Imagine having the ability to lookup customers, and know how they relate to you or the resources around them in a spatial context. Do they have access to a major roadway?
